DIRECTORS & ADVISORY TEAM - Our Directors and Advisory Team bring invaluable experience and guidance with respect to operations, technology, sales and marketing management; and legislative and regulatory issues.
Glen E. Smith, Director - A Principal and co-founder of ECS, Glen is President and CEO of BidURenergy.com, a web-enabled energy marketplace. He has expertise in electricity supply, installed capacity, operating reserve, transmission grid operations, and analysis of utility tariffs, rules and regulations. In September of 2007, he was elected to a two-year term on the planning committee for North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC). Prior to co-founding ECS, Glen was Vice President at a large NYS ESCo. Glen holds a B.A. in Political Science, International Economics and Business Administration, and a Juris Doctorate.
Stephen P. Lynch, Director - Stephen is a Principal and co-founder. He is President and CEO of Ace Energy, an energy efficiency solutions provider. Stephen has expertise in facility power management, advanced metering and DSM technology. In November 2007, he was named Chairman of NYISO Price Responsive Load Working Group Committee. Stephen worked in nuclear power systems engineering at General Dynamics, and held a senior management position with the world’s largest manufacturer of cubic zirconia. He also served on the Board of Directors for the Greater Niagara Manufacturer’s Association. Stephen has a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Northeastern University.
William Flynn, Strategic Advisor - Bill
is the leader of the Energy and Telecommunications Practice Groups at Harris
Beach, PLLC. He was Chairman of the New York State Public Service Commission
and prior to that was the President of the New York State Energy Research &
Development Authority (NYSERDA). During his tenure at the PSC, he was known for
being one of the most active proponents of demand response in the country.
Kathleen Carrigan, Strategic Advisor - Kathleen is the
founder of Carrigan and associates, LLC, which offers clients an array of
services that include legal, regulatory, strategic planning and public
relations. Prior to Carrigan and Associates Kathleen was Senior Vice
President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary for ISO New England,
Inc. Kathleen joined ISO New England at the start of the industry
restructuring period with the creation of wholesale energy markets. She was
part of the senior management team responsible for the design of the wholesale
market structure in New England with a value of over $10 billion, implemented a
robust system planning process that was successful in siting 5 major
transmission lines while building a thriving organization from 100 employees to
approximately 450. Kathleen has nearly 20 years of experience in public
utility law and policy.
Marie Pieniazek, Strategic Advisor - Ms. Pieniazek is the President of Demand
Response and Energy Consulting, LLC. Formerly a Vice-President of Government
& Regulatory Affairs, for one of the nations largest privately held energy
service providers, Ms. Pieniazek was the primary regulatory interface at both
the federal and state levels. Prior to working within the demand response
industry Ms. Pieniazek was responsible for facilitation of New York’s
$750,000,000 Installed Capacity market at the New York Independent System
Operator. Previous to joining the NYISO, she was employed by Selkirk
Cogen Partners, a 345-megawatt cogeneration facility that provides power to New
York’s wholesale market. Marie holds a BS in Business, Economics, and
Management from the State University of New York, Empire State College and an
MBA from The College of Saint Rose.
EXECUTIVE TEAM - Executive Oversight - The Company’s Executive team oversees all aspects of new and existing programs, ensuring all departments work together to ensure quick ramp-up, smooth transition, and effective program operation and communication.
Jim Korczykowski, President & CEO - Jim has over fifteen years experience in the energy industry
managing growth stage privately held companies. He has expertise in all
functional areas of management with particular strength in strategic planning,
organizational development and financial management. Prior to joining ECS, Jim led
the energy marketing division of a large international petroleum distributor where
he also established and led the company’s ESCos. Jim holds an MBA and is a Certified Public Accountant.
Daniel Perez, Vice President, Technology - Dan works closely with ECS participants and prospects, upgrading their capabilities in reference to enabling technologies and automated response. He works closely with new markets as they evolve and assures compatibility on the technology side. Additionally, Dan is responsible for the measurement and verification aspect of the ECS demand response portfolio, and oversees all technology deployments to assure their success. Dan has more than 15 years experience in the automation and communications engineering field. Over the past several years, he has emerged as a leader in the field of building automation, energy management systems and data access. While working with mechanical engineering firms, Dan assisted in designing and developing energy efficient specifications and standards for large commercial facility development. He holds degrees in Computer Science and Network Engineering and is an Associate member of ASHRAE and USGBC LEED NYC Chapter.
