DIRECTORS & ADVISORY TEAM - Our Directors and Advisory Team bring invaluable experience and guidance with respect to operations, technology, sales and marketing management; and legislative and regulatory issues.

STRATEGIC ADVISORY TEAM -Our team of strategic advisors provides insight into market opportunities throughout North America and works with regulators and policy makers.

EXECUTIVE TEAM - Executive Oversight - The Company's Executive team oversees all aspects of new and existing programs, ensuring all departments work together to ensure quick ramp-up, smooth transition, and effective program operation and communication.


Jim Korczykowski, President & CEO

Jim has over fifteen years experience in the energy industry managing growth stage privately held companies. He has expertise in all functional areas of management with particular strength in strategic planning, organizational development and financial management. Prior to joining ECS, Jim led the energy marketing division of a large international petroleum distributor where he also established and led the company's ESCos. Jim holds an MBA and is a Certified Public Accountant.

Marie Pieniazek, COO

Energy expert Marie Pieniazek has joined ECS as their Chief Operating Officer. Marie will be responsible for regulatory policy and compliance, market operations, measurement and verification, as well as ECS’ customer relations department. Marie’s background in the energy industry makes her a respected expert in demand response. She was chosen as a prime candidate to work with ECS, as she possesses over a decade of experience in the energy industry. Her past positions include service as President of a Consulting firm, Vice President of Government and Regulatory Affairs, Senior Director of Business Development, and Senior Analyst. In addition, she also played an instrumental role in facilitation of the NYISO’s Installed Capacity market. Marie’s strengths include: expertise in deregulated market operations, wholesale market analysis, strategic bidding strategies and related regulatory pleadings and filings. Marie has been involved in ECS’ development since its inception in 2001, initially as a colleague at the NYISO, then as a consultant. ECS can attribute a portion of its considerable growth to Marie, as the company now represents tens of thousands of customers nationwide. Marie holds a BS in Business, Economics, and Management from the State University of New York, Empire State College and an MBA from The College of Saint Rose.

Daniel Perez, Vice President, Technology

Dan works closely with ECS participants and prospects, upgrading their capabilities in reference to enabling technologies and automated response. He works closely with new markets as they evolve and assures compatibility on the technology side. Additionally, Dan is responsible for the measurement and verification aspect of the ECS demand response portfolio, and oversees all technology deployments to assure their success. Dan has more than 15 years experience in the automation and communications engineering field. Over the past several years, he has emerged as a leader in the field of building automation, energy management systems and data access. While working with mechanical engineering firms, Dan assisted in designing and developing energy efficient specifications and standards for large commercial facility development. He holds degrees in Computer Science and Network Engineering and is an Associate member of ASHRAE and USGBC LEED NYC Chapter.

Malcolm Ainspan, Director Regulatory Affairs

As Senior Regulatory Associate for ECS, Mr. Ainspan will serve on ECS’ Regulatory Compliance Committee and will be responsible for market compliance activities, representing ECS in ISO/RTO Stakeholder processes, supporting public utility contract negotiations, providing contractual analysis and interpretation, providing support in energy litigation, and other various functions that will ultimately further strengthen ECS’ stronghold in the demand response industry. He joins ECS with nearly 15 years of experience in the energy industry, including serving as a senior advisor to the Israel Public Utilities Authority, developing evaluation metrics for the ISO-New England’s demand response program, serving as senior consultant with Deloitte Consulting, and co-founding one of the nation’s leading green energy suppliers, Green Mountain Energy.

Alberto Martinez, Director Texas Operations

Mr. Martinez will be responsible for directing sales, operational and regulatory activities related to increasing ECS’ footprint in the Texas marketplace. In addition Mr. Martinez will develop and manage innovative and value add demand response and energy efficiency programs and work collaboratively with clients and partners to implement and manage these programs within the clients’ existing processes and energy management plans. Prior to joining ECS, Mr. Martinez served as a director for CPower, Inc. where his primary focus had been in the Texas power market, including ERCOT and the Public Utilities Commission of Texas, allowing him to develop solid business relationships with many of the municipalities and other IOUs in deregulated and regulated areas of Texas. Alberto has a long history working in the Texas market and was one of the original employees of DR pioneer Extend Energy which was subsequently acquired by Cpower, Inc.

William M. Flynn, Strategic Advisor

Also partner in Harris Beach, LLC, has been ECS' lead advisor since February 2007. Bill is former chairman of the New York State Public Service Commission. Prior to that, he served as president of New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA). Bill strategically advises ECS concerning additional market opportunities.

Kathleen Carrigan, Strategic Advisor

Kathleen is the founder of Carrigan and associates, LLC, which offers clients an array of services that include legal, regulatory, strategic planning and public relations. Prior to Carrigan and Associates Kathleen was Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary for ISO New England, Inc. Kathleen joined ISO New England at the start of the industry restructuring period with the creation of wholesale energy markets. She was part of the senior management team responsible for the design of the wholesale market structure in New England with a value of over $10 billion, implemented a robust system planning process that was successful in siting 5 major transmission lines while building a thriving organization from 100 employees to approximately 450. Kathleen has nearly 20 years of experience in public utility law and policy.
