Program Highlights

  • No out-of-pocket financial cost or penalties associated with enrollment and participation

  • Earn 2 types of payments:

  1. $ for standing by (capacity payment)

  2. $ for actual electricity reduced (energy payment)

  • Receive payment in the form of a check, not merely a credit on your electric bill

  • Program available to most types of medium to large-sized businesses
       (provided electric demand is large enough - minimum of 500 kW)

  • Program runs non-holiday weekdays only

  • Keep electricity costs lower during periods of high demand

  • Annual maximum of only 25 Reduction Events, each capped at 4 hours

  • At least 5-hour advance notice of Reduction Events, giving you time to prepare

  • You decide what you can or can't reduce

  • In certain circumstances, you may flex your monthly reduction commitment, according to your
       ability to reduce your electric demand in a given month

  • Energy Management tools pre-configured for Ontario to better manage electric
       use; In certain instances, you may even view your energy usage online
